About Victor...

Such a 'happy' child! (Victor at 5 years old)

I am from Plainville, Georgia. Plainville is a great place, because people from Plainville know they live in the country. People from Calhoun and Rome also live in the country, but they don't know it. This is crazy making if you are from Plainville. Rome and Calhoun are fine, but they are not all that. Plainville is finer, because Plainville knows what it means to live in the country.

When I was a child, I spent a lot of time with my grandmother, Phoebe, at Berry College. You should visit Berry College, near Rome, Georgia. It is truly beautiful.

I am a very hire-able musician, never quite "broke in" to the Bay Area classical music scene. Currently, I am a pastoral intern at Peninsula Metropolitan Community Church in San Mateo and a full time MDiv student at Pacific School of Religion of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley.  (I commute from SF.)  In recent years, I was the Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church of Palo Alto, and I taught choral music at the San Francisco Waldorf High School for 2 years.

I sing with Coro Hispano de San Francisco and the Grammy nominated Pacific Mozart Ensemble.

I have a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting and Literature from Indiana University School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano from Shorter College.  I sang with the Robert Shaw Institute of Choral Music in Souillac, France in the early 1990s.

I have sung major roles at the Best Little Opera Company in the World -- Skylight Opera Theatre with the best principal conductress.

I was a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions back in the day.

I sang at Stern Grove with the Merola Program of the San Francisco Opera.

Note: The above is a Google search of AMazon.com which brings up the correct CDs. (If you do the search on Amazon.com, you get another CD which I am NOT on.)

I am tired of people missing the connections between music, spirituality, faith and social justice. These people get it.

I also want to sing more, preferably with an opera company. It's hard to find serious auditions in the Bay Area. I know plenty opera roles and oratorios, and I can sing them well, if only I could find companies that would just not be crazy. Wish me luck!  Ha!  Oh well, they'll miss me, or not.
